college, again. [Dec. 3rd, 2006|07:26 pm]
[Current Location |my bed]
[Jammin to |the notwist]

So, I guess a lot has happened since I last updated... I visited Eckerd College & New College of Florida over Thanksgiving break. I actually really liked New College of Florida... but, I'm not sure I can bring myself to live in Florida again. I mean, I like Florida, don't get me wrong... and I have friends down there.. but, all the people that I really care about (besides my family) are up here, in the Northeast. Going to school in Florida would make it almost impossible for me to see those people... (such as Jess, Natasha, Anya, Haley, Allison, Molly, Courtney etc...) That would be pretty tough, but at the same time I know that I would be making a lot of new friends.. but, still. I've found that this year I've made a ton of new friends... but none of them really seem to compare to my friends last year... granted, I know that I shouldn't compare them because they're so different and that I shouldn't expect my friendships to be the same.. but, still... it's kind of left me feeling a little empty inside. Basically the only person who I feel like I can tell anything to is... Haley. And we're both busy a lot... and most likely, she's going to be out of the country for the greater part of next year. ay ayy ayyy.

I've applied to Drew, Eckerd, & New College of Florida. I'm pretty sure I'll get into both Drew & Eckerd (seeing as they're both pretty big safeties) but, I'm not so sure about New College of Florida. It's basically a 50/50 chance... They have a pretty high acceptance rate (60%) but, the school is also becoming more and more known. Here's a mini-profile for those of you who have never heard of New College:
Average SATs:
Critical Reading: 630-720
Math: 580-670
ACT composite: 26-29
760 Undergrads
-Rated as America's #1 Public Liberal Arts College by U.S. News & World Report in their 2007 edition of America's Best Colleges.
-The nation’s #1 value in public higher education (Princeton Review, America’s 374 Best Colleges, 2006 edition)
-The nation’s #1 ranked public liberal arts college (U.S. News & World Report, America’s Best Colleges, 2007 edition)
-One of the nation’s 45 Best Buys in Higher Education (Fiske Guide to Colleges 2006)
-The nation’s #3 ranked per capita producer of Fulbright Scholars among all four-year bachelor’s colleges (Chronicle of Higher Education, October 2005)

so, basically.. yeah. Anywayyy. I didn't/ am not applying to Hampshire. Kind of a shocker, ehh? Right. But, I did add Bryn Mawr to my list of schools that I'm applying to. Oh, I should find out about Eckerd by Christmas, New College by January 15th, & Drew by February 1st (i think)... so nervous! (mostly about new college)

alright. enough about college. Except that I have to fly to Baltimore on Tuesday morning to go tour & interview at Goucher and then fly back that evening! yuck! I've never been on a college visit/interview by myself before! Kind of scary... and then I interview next Saturday at Skidmore. blaaah!

but, REVELS IS SOOON! exactly 7 days until Revels week starts.. and only liiiike 12 days until actual REVELS!! AHHHHH soooo CRAZY.

okay, now I have to go work on my 3 supplemental college essays. !@#$%^&*()_

peace, love, & bare feet.

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.
